It looks like a cute movie, but I just can't get past the sadness of knowing some puppies were shipped out WAY too early to make this movie and then some even died. It was so irresponsible on the part of the movie makers as well as the breeders.

Meet Charleston Chew!

My Friends call me CHEWY!

My Foster mommy tells my story best:

Chewy is a beautiful black & white with shades of tan husky. He has one blue eye & 1 light brown eye. He has 2 stripes that come down his face that make him stand out from the average husky markings. He has long legs and he loves to give kisses.

Chewy was rescued by a young couple in Maryland. They kept him 3 weeks in hopes of locating his owner, but with 2 other dogs in the home & a move coming up they could not keep him. They decided to give him a fresh start to the new year and with tears in their eyes, on 01-20-2008, they surrendered Chewy to foster care with TOTTSHR.

He was very skinny, very scared and flea infested. He was also in need of a bath. The bath took care of the fleas, good food is filling him out & he has became very comfortable very quickly at his foster home.

He was altered on 01-29-08 and at that time he also tested positive for Lyme's disease. He is not symptomatic and he is currently being treated for it.

Chewy has lit up my household. When he comes in the room-everyone
smiles. He gets along with every dog he has met so far (4 and counting).

He is cat friendly, he wants to play with my cat, but he is very respectful of her and will stop looking at her the minute you call him.

He is a huge woo woo er. He likes to talk and when he is happy-especially at dinner time he will talk your ear off.

He is not fence tested, so I use a 40 foot lead which he does very well with. He goes potty on the lead or a leash. He is great both in the car & on a leash, and he loves to go bye bye.

Chewy is looking for his forever home, and I am sure he will find one soon as this dog is a great catch!

Aren't puppies fun? Well Keema and Ramu certainly were a blast up in Warren. Keema is still looking for her furever home, but Ramu was adopted within a day of arriving in rescue! Keema is the black and white.. boy look at those little devils go!

Good News & Bad News

Well it turns out that the nasty mass on my leg had some cancer cells in it! But the good news is that is all gone now and the type of cancer it was doesn’t normally spread. Here is what my vet said: “Butters had a mass removed from his left front limb and surgically biopsied. The mass was diagnosed as a hemangiopericytoma. This is a locally infiltrative tumor that can recur after surgical excision. It does not normally spread anywhere else in the body (it does not metastasize). So, Butters should make a full recovery and will not be affected systemically by the tumor, but the mass may regrow on his limb in the future and he could need a second surgery.”

Hey everyone! Butters here. I just wanted to let you know I had surgery yesterday and everything went perfect! They removed the lump on my leg and had my teeth cleaned. Now I just sparkle! Dad took the day off to spend time with me and make sure Imoya doesn't hassle me too much:) I know she missed me!

My hu-mom has told me that over the past 2 weeks Tails of the Tundra has pulled in 3 red and white dogs....I think it is in honor of me....the Butters:) They are Yakiska, Zuni and Asher.......two girls and a boy. Yakiska is a 10 month old girl with alot of attitude that REALLY needs to be adjusted so she will be around for a bit, but she is only 10 months old....so hopefully she will straighten up. Zuni is a 3 year old wooly girl (pictured) that was in a shelter after not being contained well by her previous owners. She also had Pyometria and the shelter spayed her and saved her life....her foster mom has a soft spot for woolies and couldn't say no to fostering her! Asher....well, he is the sweetest little 10 month old pup who came in as a stray and was rescued from the same shelter Zuni came from....by the way they came in on the day before New Years Eve...happy one for them! So.....it is a red and white start to the New year for TOTT....the Butters LOVES IT!

A Happy Marley Tale!

A long while ago, Tails of The Tundra got a phone call from a panicked vet personnel about a 16 week old puppy who was dropped off by a pet store to be PTS because he was returned for biting his owner. His name became Marley and he was a HANDFUL of attitude! I worked with him and got him started on the right pathway to learning the rules of being a good boy and his wonderful adopters finished the job! I got the best Christmas message and picture of him today:) Also...for those of you that attended our Husky Hike and got the blue pawprint car magnet that......Marley is the model puppy! His new name is Dakashi or Dakii for short, here is a small portion of the adopters e-mail and before and after pics....enjoy!

"Merry Christmas to Mom#1 and family, Daakii here sending my Christmas wishes to you all. Sending you some pictures too of my birthday time, can't believe I'm already 2!!!!! Doing so well here, heck this gig is easy. For some reason though whenever Mom#2 is not at work I have the need to be where ever she is. She keeps mistaking me for a rug right outside the shower as
i lay right there every morning to be sure that she does not disappear or something down that tub drain. When she is sleeping I lay right on her legs to make sure she does not roll off the bed. Most of the time Brother and I can now lay side by side with our treats and NOT fight with each other, we can't figure out why mom and dad get happy bout that! Getting along pretty
good with my big brother, but I do LOVE to tease him. Good thing he is mostly good natured.

Mom and Dad draw the line though when they see me yanking him through the room by his
tail. Been working out, growing big, and am pretty strong now. When I stand on Mom#2 she swears I am at least 100 lbs, she even says she will bet anyone and verify it on my next Vet Visit. And yes I am a cry baby when Dad leaves
the house. Brother and I start out by whining a little bit and before you know it we both have our noses pointed to the sky and these big sad howls
just come right out of both of us. Even when Mom is sitting right there, we still miss Dad if he walks out the front door. If he goes out the back door we don't howl, we know he is at the Fire
House and so Brother and I sit patiently looking out the window, waiting for him. We do love all the shiny red flashing lights as they zoom past
and Dad always pulls the siren as he can see us looking at him.

Everybody is getting ready for Xmas around here, brother and I saw our stockings hanging
and made off with them like bandits....didn't do any good Santa hasn't come yet, so we are waiting and counting the days. Santa always hits our house and leaves us treats and some new toys, and we think we've been pretty good
this year."

Fair Hill - WHAT A BLAST!!!

STILL recovering from the weekend:) But we did have a blast as usual- The folks from the PA Sled Dog Club are always so much fun to be around!

Saturday was especially busy!! As it turns most of the other vendors couldn't make it for one reason or another.. so we had some work to do! Over the two days we raised over $1000 in combined donations and merchandise sales to help the pups!!

Hi pups! Weeko here! My foster mom is upset cause I chewed up a good portion of her fence to keep the pups out of her plants. I licked up the vinegar she tried... Next she is trying Bitter apple and Tobasco. Hmm... maybe I will like that too!

OH NO! I just realized that no one ever gave the update here on Butters Blog about how the hike went!!! Silly Sibes we are! Okay we need a BIG round of APaws for this years hike!

Our 5th annual Tails on the Trails was a huge success! Thanks to all our hikers and sponsors we grossed over $13,000 to help Siberian Huskies and Siberian Husky mixes in need.

So Mia Pia here, my foster sister Kya and I thought we would play a fun game today and piss off the humom at the same time.....and boy did it work. The game was....see how dumb the big rock headed white foster Roan is and how dirty we could get him! Out back in our yard the humom has an air conditioner running (for us of course) and underneath there is always a pile of condensation water. She has tried (to no avail by the way) to keep us out of it...but it is a play magnet! So today......us girls lored the big dumb boy into the water hole and dirtied him up real good:) You should have seen the humom's face when she saw HIS face and paws......doggie priceless! Notice how us girls are only slightly dirty don't you? ARRRROOOO

Hey every pup! That's right it's Butters here.. and I can't wait to meet all my pals! Can you believe it? The Hike is less that a week away!!! I get to meet THE Khyra! SO EXCITING!!!

Me and my new peeps decided to lend our 30 foot trailer for the day to the Tails on the Trails. The trailer will be the air conditioned and provide a special place for the AVID Microchipping and Pet First Aid Unit. I can't get over how much stuff there is going to be to do!! Sledding, Scootering, even Weight Pull... this should be fun to watch other pups try these things out! I also hear there is a K-9 Demo, my good ol' Foster mom wants to put a Mike Vick shirt on the cop who is being attacked in the demo! Then there is this Scavenger Hunt. Nika tells me that there is a BAG fFULL of really cool gifts for folks to win! Lots of Vendors... Games for us dogs including an ICE CREAM EATING CONTEST!! I'd bet I'd be really good at that! Funnel Cake? Hmm.. sounds yummy too!! Here is the link to the full list.

A Ruff Day

Hey Bloggin' Buddies. I am Vienna... I was adopted through Tails of the Tundra and boy do I have a ruff life! This Tails on the Trail Event is really starting to intrude on my life here. Today a bunch of humes came over to my house and FILLED my house with stuff and then they started throwing all this good stuff in bags! Something about Goodie Bags for the Registered hikers at the Tails on the Trails event? I really could have saved them all a lot of work.. I could have just eaten everything!

Oh and then GET THIS! Apparently BEFORE the REALLY REALLY good box of Yummy Chummies arrived Some other dogs got to taste test them all! HOW RUDE IS THAT?

Sure I got a few bites, but look at these photo's I found on my humes computer of Rudi and Fugas digging into the box!

Then later poor Naji (the little girl I lived with when I was in foster care).. she got trapped in all the goodie bags! Thankfully I she had a stuffy to keep her company until we could dig her out!

If you haven't already.. I sure do hope you register for the hike.. at least that way I haven't gone through all this horror for nothing!

Follow-up phone calls:

Need a few people that are willing to make 4-5 calls a month to check up on dogs that have been adopted out already. Follow up ensures that the alumni dogs are doing well and that they are not in need or having behavior issues. Requires up to 2 hours or so a month.

Owner surrender phone calls and e-mails:

We need a few people that are willing to retrieve voicemails and make a few phone calls a week to people who want to surrender their dogs to rescue. Your job is trying to persuade them to NOT take the dog to a shelter but rather to work with our Owner Surrender Program and take the dog on approved adoptions, the same adoptions our foster dogs go to. Requires maybe 2 hours a week.

Shelter intake callers and website checkers:

Your job is to call and ask shelters that we work with if they have any huskies that can be listed on our site and the intake list that is distributed weekly. This is a very important list that we refer adopters to shelters that have dogs in need and we also pick foster dogs from this list. This job requires an hour or so a week.

Sanitation Guru:

Person of the highest qualification to go to foster homes and sanitize their yard. Will need to be friendly and bring their own scooper. Must be able to deal with lots of poop and remember to watch where they walk.

So....last week some of you good folks on Sibernet remember the sweet little husky/akita mix pup in MD that was going to be PTS? Well, one of our foster homes fell in love with the little girl and decided she wanted to foster little Abby....who is now Shawnee for TOTTSHR. She is just the sweetest little grl, no noises in her crate, slowly warming up to her foster pals and just a very cute little thing. Her foster mom also thnk she is a rare breed of Transylvania husky ....just look at those dark, Dracula like colorings and those peircing blue eyes! What are your votes?

Hey Bloggin Buddies!

I hope you all have been having fun checking in here with all my rescue pals. I figured I’d drop in and give everyone an update!

I am doing REALLY REALLY GREAT! Imoya is a LOT of fun and I have been feeling more and more comfy playing with her and the humans here.

We go on car rides and sometimes I just get to chill out! Oh and for fun just two Saturday’s ago Imoya and I decided to play in the morning. And when I say morning.. I mean 5 am! Dad came down to see what the ruckus was about. I told him we were just having some FUN!

So yesterday I woke up with poo all in my crate and then went a few more times outside and my momma said it had "red stuff" in it.....so she rushed me off to "the vet." Well the vet made me stay for all night! I missed my foster pals Pia and Roan and all my brothers and sisters so much that when mom called at 10 last night to check on my she heard me SCREAMING:)Anyway, I am home now and when she came to pick me up she noticed I had two pathetically shaved front paws. So...she asked what happed. The vet techs sqeeled on me that I chewed the first IV out and they had to put in a second and then they put this big coney thingy on my head...THATS why I was screaming....what the dog is that thing????? The other vet tech also told mom I was a "rocket scientist in a evil villanous way." Why whatever could he mean? He told mom that when he was setting up my IV fluids this morning I watched his every move and then when he left I prompty got ahold of the bag of fluids and chewed through then.....my side of the story is I was just thirsty and wanted to drink them in faster then he was allowing:) So he had to re-hang them and put them on a pole away from my cage.....I then turned my back to him and gave him my tush with my face to the back of the kennel (thats what I do when I am mad). They all loved me at the vet and said I am quite the "comedian" whatever that means.....I am just glad to be home and want to know when I won't look like a poodle anymore!

Hey all you bloggers.....my name is Roanoke, but my friends call me Roan:) I was the husky posted to Sibernet a few days ago that was to be PTS at 11:30 becuase the silly shelter thought I wasn't supposed to show my disdain to some hume they gave me to who hit me with a newspaper! HA...all I did was bear my teeth...he islucky I didn't get him where it counts! Anyway, my nice friends here at Tails came to my rescue and saved me and my new foster moms name is Aunty Jodi....she has lots of fun dogs to play with and a big backyard too! She says I am a sweet big blockhead and she likes me lots....I am now looking for my furever home and she said she will make POSITIVE it is nobody with any bad newspaper thoughts:) Right now I am still not nootered (whatever that means) and so I like to play "games" with the girls here, they get grouchy with me sometimes about that....dang women:)I am having a good time here until I find that final spot.....maybe I will write yall back soon!

Hey everyone! My name is Dyani! I am one of Butters Bloggin' Buddies and I have a problem for you to solve!

MY SIDE OF THE STORY:
So I was playing with Noa and Sonic and all of a sudden a giant hawk picked me up and almost ate me. Just before I was hawk breakfast my brothers scared the hawk and he dropped me in the sink. I had no choice but to stay there and clean the dishes. She should be grateful...what nerve she had to chase me away. I had to stand there giving her my classic "nobody's home" blank stare as I was frightened that the giant prey driven bird would come back and scoop me up. Why does she never understand these things?!

MY FOSTER MOM'S SIDE OF THE STORY:
I was a little bit of a slacker last night and left some pots in the sink. This morning Dyani was feeling extra mischievous, especially now that she is more reliable with her potty training and has an ounce of freedom. She was playing with the boys (which always spells trouble) and all of a sudden I hear clanking in my kitchen. On occasion the dogs have taken Tupperware and things out fo the sink. I told them to leave it and heard nothing else. Not ten seconds later I hear clanking again and go to investigate. I look around the kitchen and see no dogs...I was about to turn around and leave and then that little witch caught my eye. She was STANDING on the COUNTER! Yes STANDING on the COUNTER with her head in the sink licking the pots. I told her to get off and she look at me as though I was nuts (with her blank stare that makes you think she is really not all that smart BTW) and ran down the counter to flea. Right over the STOVE! Needless to say I picked her up and put her on the floor and shamed her profusely through my laughter. That was more than counter surfing it was like counter boating. UGH!

I don't know.. but I think that Hawk was pretty darn scary!

So......a few weeks ago I was in one of those crate thingies that my mom keeps me in while she was at a rescue event and I decided it wasn't so fun anymore. So....I found a way out....and boy did I have fun! I had already scratched a small hole by pawing through my crate at the arm of the couch and some stuffing came out:) So, this time when I got out.....I figured it was just a BIG squeeky toy begging to be played with! I ripped it off the couch and took all the stuffing out....strangely enough there was no squeeky in there, those other dogs must have beat me to it! Then I took out a bunch of red plastic cups that my hume had under the island in the kitchen in a bag and threw them all around to play with......so when her brother got home he called and said, "boy did Pia have fun while you were out, it looks like the fourth of July in here!" So....my hume had a man come out today to assess the damage from my couch-capades and he wasn't so smart (atleast thats what my hume says). He walks in and saw all the dog crates...and all the fur (we are shedding something fierce this week from the HOT weather)....and do you know what he said? "Gee mam, you certainly have alot of feathers in here...do you have birds or something?" After my hume got done laughing at him....she said no, huskies...bet he will NEVER want one of us!

So my buddy Kya....who was one of the first friends I met when I was coming into rescue cause she and Aunty Jodi came with foster mommy Paige to evaluate me......felt like she needed to share about this super dumb rodent in her yard. The other morning all the pack went outside to do thier morning potties and when Aunty Jodi tried to call them in...there was a ruckus going on in the corner of the yard....and noone was a comin in! So.....Aunty Jodi looked a little closer...what was that thing perched on the top of her chain link fence? Was it a cat? Was it a super rat? Was it a mutant groundhog that can climb fences? She got a little closer and Kya and Angel were jumping at it trying to knock it down but it wouldn't budge...was it alive? Then she saw it breathe and blink its eyes...EEWWWWWWW! She got Angel in the house and grabbed a camera to snap this photo........Kya saying, "please Mr Rodent just come down for a minute, I swear I just wanna PLAY....hehehehe:)" All the dogs came in finally and the mutant dumb rodent disappeared....lucky for him!

Hi all...my name is Zodiac here....but my friends call me Zodie! I am a very handsome husky....or so I have been told and a mere 8 years young:) I was just returned to Tails because my owner who adopted me 5 years ago found herself in a living situation where she could no longer care for me. Once a Tail dog...always a Tails dog and so I am back looking for a new furever home. I like those little cat critters and even have fun with small dogs...some of the dogs my size...well, I need them to know I am boss, thats all! I had to go to the vet today and I was on my best doggie behavior.....even when they violated me with that dang thermometer thingy! Lucky for me I have already been told that I am nootered? so no sturgeries needed! Now.....I am on the look out for a new family....I hope they have little folks as I LOVE the kids! Hey one and all.....my name is Nali (Oginali) and I am a Tails foster dog. I found my furever home on Saturday August 4th and am now living like a very spoiled king:) I am very close to my foster mommy and she says I can come visit anytime and will babysit me if my new family ever goes on vacation:) I sure would like that alot because as you can see from my picture....I sort of had a crush on my foster sister.....she was a cutie and I think she liked me too! My new name is Yuri and since I am 76 pounds of pure man....my foster momma thinks it fits. Updates to come as I cause a ruckus in my new home (just kidding:)

One Very PawSome Kid!

Hey Woos! I need to let you all know about this very very special kid! His name is Blake. And he is one of the most PawSomest kid's around! His Birthday is on August 14th, and instead of gifts for himself.. he is asking everyone to give to the rescue! How cool is that?

I think I'd let him put a sock or two on my ears just for being so PawSome!

Here are the details:

Blake Reno of Butler, MO, has a Siberian Husky named Pooh, who he loves dearly. Pooh is so special to Blake that he decided to do something special for Siberian Huskies in need of rescue.

But I wanted to share this one email that was pawed over to me by some pals in rescue about two dogs who found a fur-ever home together: Goeshe and Huron. If you recall Huron had a $5000+ surgery to fix his eyes. And Shay... well he was just Shay!
Anywoo.. it sounds like they found a WONDERFUL home!

Their humans wrote:

As for the boys, they are doing fine. Cheyenne is a good boy, the first, usually to settle down although he will initiate the play period on his own as well. It's interesting to see them with each other's hair in their mouths, especially Shay since Cheyenne is so fuzzy, when they do play (and play is an understatement!) with each other. When we are upstairs and they are together in the kitchen we hear some scuffling and then heavy banging as they bounce off one wall to another. The other day I walked into the kitchen to try to stop the very spirited activity and the picture was so comical - Cheyenne was leaning over Shay's back, with his back to me while Shay was moving a mile a minute carrying Cheyenne with him. Another time I saw them from the hallway as they passed through from the kitchen to the front door. Cheyenne, I believe was walking away from Shay (trying to get some peace) with Shay hooked onto his back leg. When I do try to break up the play as being a little too much for indoors, Cheyenne will sometimes hear me coming and break away as I arrive and lie down or leave the room as if to say: "who me? I didn't do anything - it was him; I've just been lying here quietly."

Cheyenne will also often indicate his preference to remain in the family room instead of proceeding back up to the kitchen after they come in from the yard. Again, I think that is to get some respite from Shay. On one such occasion, I discovered that Cheyenne had developed quite an interest in reading, as he had managed to remove a magazine from a basket (without disturbing the pile of magazines from which it was removed I might add, as nothing seemed out of place) and ripped it to shreds. Both have beautiful singing voices and I note that, when they are both first placed in their crates and think they are alone, will engage in a wicked howl in. Once I slept in and they were in their crates, not only did they howl in when dad first left but periodically communicated with each other over the next few hours. I finally got up and ran down to the family room thinking they would be in a tizzy but they were lying down and just singing along. They harmonize very well.

The boys appear to be good with strangers and accepting, at least Cheyenne is, of other animals. Shay has not yet been tested in that regard. They are a big hit at daycare every two weeks where they are referred to as "the boys."

Hey master bloggers, my friend Butters passed on the secret password before the humes adoptered him out. So I have something to tell you. Tonight my hume sister was using this noisy thing to suck up all the husky hair from the carpet and I thought it was a really fun toy (well...not as fun as the arm of my hume's couch that I ripped off and de-stuffed last week when I escaped my crate:). So anyway....I was playing chase with this sucky up thingy toy called the Dyson Animal (silly name...I have never seen a purple animal) and my hume mom and sister were laughing so hard and then all of the sudden.....the end of the hose on the sucky thing......tried to steal my tongue!!!!!!!!!! Can you believe the audacity of that purple thingy....an animal that would try to de-tongue me for no reason then I was trying to play......well guess I won't play with that dumb toy again:) So watch out all bloggers for the tongue stealing purple Dyson Animal toy........

By popular request... I have convinced my new humans to let me continue to blog! So keep on checking in here as I provide updates on my new life. In addition, I gave out my pass codes out to all the foster pups who end up in the rescue This way they can jump in here and let everyone know about them too! My Bloggin' Buddies!

Now.. as for me. I am on day 4 of my new life! And BOY am I having fun! These folks were kind enough to provide a nice ramp thing so I can take car rides without having to jump in and out of the big vehicles. They have LOTS of toys for me. Not really sure what to do with them yet, but I like sniffing them and I put the round ones in my mouth.

OH.. I have a new girlfriend too! Her name is Imoya. Apparently she was in the rescue too! This family adopted her in 2003 and she tells me they are really great folks. Well I better run. Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. Don't forget you can still meet me at the hike on September 15th! I will be there with my new girl Imoya!

A Paws-itive-ly Happy Butters!

BIG NEWS!!!

It was a busy weekend for me folks and I have some REALLY important news to share.... I WAS ADOPTED! So, mark your calendars for July 28th is my very own Gotcha Day! I share a home with a very sweet dog that was also a foster dog in Tails of the Tundra and adopted out in 2003, her name is Imoya.

I am adjusting pretty well for them.. they are very nice people here. As I understand it we will be doing lots of traveling, camping and stufff like that. AND... they really don't seem like the sort of folks who will dress me up! I even PLAYED with a tennis ball on Sunday.

They also met some other dogs too.. one dog named Rocco (as I understand it he found his home with a high energy dog leter in the day), and another pup named Zodiac. But it was ME they fell in love with!

My foster mommy made them PROMISE to bring me to the hike. I think I saw her even shed a tear or two as she left. I'll be okay foster momma!

I'll be sure to check in when I can and let everyone know how I am doing. Back to getting situated in my new home!

Though I never got to meet her....my Aunty Jodi says that Little Lou was just the sweetest little pupster around and she endured alot in her 5 months with TOTT until her untimely trip to the Rainbow Bridge at only 8 months old:( It is very sad for my Buttery mind to thnk that she never got to live a full life, but Aunty Jodi says she spoiled the puppy muffins out of her while she had her for those 5 months, so atleast she was well loved while she was here. If any of my Blogger buds can find thier Humes plastic thingys and pledge just a wee bit for her memory...it would mean alot to her sister Vienna and to Little Lou looking down from the clouds:)

I would like all my blogging friends to meet the newest puppy saved by Tails from a terrible situation. She is being fostered my Aunty Jodi (who I like....she has that cute Naji girl on my webpage that I was giving paw too) and her name is Pilan but they call her Pia for short. She was tied out all day on a tie out with a belt buckle for a collar and was jumping over the fence....she could have strangled herself for dogness! I just don't understand the likes of some of these humans...thank dogness she is in a better place now. Aunty Jodi says she has SOOOO much to learn, she is scared of everything, not potty trained, not liking that crate thingy....sounds like her old humans didn't teach her a lick of anything. I have to say though....I think she is quite a cutie pie and I am really thinking Aunty Jodi will have her all fixed up by the hike so we can have a "meeting" if ya know what I mean......isn't she cute?

A few folks have been askin' me about getting one of those fancy Hike T-shirts.. but they said they live too far away to be hikin' in PA. SOOO I found out the deal! Here is what the Rescue has to say on that:

"Don't forget that even if you are unable to attend the hike in PA... You can STILL register as a remote hiker! Simply complete either the registration form and mail it in or use the easy paypal form. You will be asked to add $8 to cover the costs of shipping and handling for your goodies if you qualify for any of the pledge incentives. To qualify for one of the top three prizes your pledge form and collected money must be postmarked by Sept. 11th."

So last night I got to interview the foster mom, aka the evil one. I had to take a nap before I could transcribe it all out... But here is what I have to report back:

Butters (B): Good evenin' Evil one... I mean foster momma...
Evil One Paige (EOP): Good Evening to you Butter Man.

B: Can you please state your name for the record?
EOP: Why? Where are you planning on using this?

B: Ummm.. no where.. I just want to know.
EOP: Ok Butters.. I am Paige.

B: I have a few questions for you this evening... that I need answered. My first question is.. where do you go everyday when you and the foster dad lock me in that metal jail thing?
EOP: Well Butters, we have to go do stuff for other human folk who in turn give us money that we can use to get you food and other goodies. I work in a place called a Bank where they handle the money for other folks in something called the Credit Risk area. .

B: Hmmm.. but why lock me in the jail thing?
EOP: Well Butters, the short version or the long version of it?

B: The short version will do.
EOP: Well, while we are still getting to know and trust you we need to give you limits and set boundaries. Since when we aren't home we can't tell you what things you can and can't get into, the jail thing helps us do that.

B: So you don't trust me??? After all I put up with from you??
EOP: Butters, do I need to remind you about the trash can incident?

B: But that was just ONCE!
EOP: Could that be because we moved all trash cans up high?

B: Okay fine... let's move on Evil One, errr... I mean Foster momma. So speaking of food... why don't I get the really neat stuff that I see the other dogs getting? .
EOP: I don't know what you are talking about. You get Evo dog food daily, which you seem to love. You also get fish oil supplements for your coat, and you get raw eggs, yogurt or cottage cheese mixed in with your kibble every day.

B: Oh come on now.. You know what I am talking about!
EOP: OHH.. you mean the chickens, pork, deer and other stuff they get.. well Butters those dogs eat a RAW diet. You eat close to a raw diet. But since you are a foster dog and not everyone is keen on the RAW diet, we are sticking to kibble with you. EVO is as close as you can get to RAW in a kibble diet. .

B: Well that's @#$(&! I want RAW! It looks SOOO YUMMY!!! Nika, Rudi, Fugas and Pandora all look to be having soo much fun eating it. So why don't you just keep me?
EOP: Well Butters, we really would love to keep you. But we just can't afford it. We have the other four pups and it is expensive to own and care for dogs. On all of our dogs we have annual blood work done, that is how we were able to find out that Nika has masses on her liver and get that taken care of before it was too hard to help her. When we go off to work each day (you know when we put you in the jail), we only get so much money to take care of all of you and as dogs get older more things can happen and we want to be able to do whatever is needed for each dog to give them long happy lives. And we want the same for you! We want a home for you that can afford to do that for you without sacrificing the care of their existing dogs if they have any. So until then you are welcome to stay as long as you need.

B: Well, I GUESS that makes sense. How about getting more work? Wait never mind.. that means longer jail time. Okay, but can I put in a request to have a home that feeds me that RAWstuff?
EOP: Ok Butters, I will try.

B: Oh... and I want my new humans not to dress me up!
EOP: Aww Butters... you don't like helping out and dressing up? .

B: Uhh... NO!
EOP: So you don't want the treats I give you in return for dressing up and the photo shoots?

B: Well... I want the treats, just no dressing up.
EOP: Ok Butters.. I will work on that. But if I have to work for stuff, should you?

B: I'd say NO. I had a hard enough life. Ever hear of retirement lady?
EOP: Ok Butters.. good point. I will try.

B: So, speaking of foster dogs... exactly how many were there before me?
EOP: Well Butters, you are the 46th foster dog for us with Tails of the Tundra. I think.

B: You think??? What you can't count?
EOP: I really don't like to count.

B: Isn't that what you do during the day? Work at a place where they count?
EOP: I work where they count money, but I do other stuff which has more to do with reading and words and other computer stuff. I also do other stuff too when I am home.. paint, draw and do graphics stuff.

B: AH HA! So maybe if you did more of that other stuff you COULD afford me!
EOP: I do that other stuff so I can afford the four dogs! And I also enjoy it.. it is like a hobby too.

B: So what? I am not a good enough Hobby?
EOP: Oh come on now Butters.. I love you and you are more than a Hobby. That is why your foster parents have done Rescue for.. well for over 9 years now. We love all of you pups.

B: Okay.. fair enough... I GUESS... Evil O... err... foster momma. So when and where is this new home of mine? I'd like to start training... I mean getting to know them.
EOP: Patience Butters... they are out there. Until then just hang out with us.

B: Okay.. YAWWWNNN... if you insist.
EOP: You tired Butters?

B: Doesn't a yawn normally mean that? Of course I am tired! I am an Ol' man.
EOP: Okay Butters.. let's get to bed then.

B: Sounds good. Oh one more thing foster momma.
EOP: Yes Butters.

B: Can you PLEASE explain to Nika and Fugas that I really don't care about their toys, and they can stop yellin' at me!
EOP: I keep telling them that.. but they REALLY like those toys.

B Uh huh... YAWWWNNN... okay we can talk more about this tomorrow.

So last Saturday night after my long day we had some visitors of the human kind over....and I was still sort of tired. All I wanted to do was lay on the evil ones legs....and that darn Fugas stepped on me hind quarters! Can you all believe the nerve of that big galoof?!? So....I jumped up and told him (in doggie talk of course so the humans will never know what I really said) to get the HE double toothpicks off me! Well, he listened and then ws afraid to walk by me the rest of the night to go potty outside:) That big wimpy dog....then what do you expect from a dog that the evil one has made pose as Santa Dog and has a forked tongue:) Anyways....the evil one and her human hubbie kept teasin me and calling me "killer" the rest of the night....cause I really need any more nick names! Heres a picture of Fugas so you can see what I mean about how tortured he is!

OH and.. Sitka! I will work on that interview with the evil one!

Butters Be Taggin'

It seems I have been Tagged by two loveable pups named Tasha and Eve!

Seven random facts about me eh?

#1. My full rescue name is Feo Butters Stroud. Feo is because the rescue goes by the alphabet and that is what the first foster home picked for me. (Yes I know it means Ugly in Spanish, but they meant for it to be an Indian name)... silly humans! Stroud came because I was found in Stroudsberg, and Butters.. the name I go by most.. Yes it is Butters from South Park. My foster parents thought I acted a bit like him, so it suited me.

#2. When they first found me, my ears were frost bitten and fell off:(, I also had lyme disease and a big thing in my eye that they removed, a nasty hot spot thing on my leg, REALLY ugly red stuff on my face. But I am MUCH better now!

#3. I like to walk up to corners in a room then just lay down without turning around.

#4. Oh, you should know I don't hear everything... my hearing isn't great, they say it happens with age. The evil one won't tell me when she is eating all the time and I wake up and see I missed everything and lost my chance to beg cauyse I never heard all the bag ruffle sounds!

#5. When I first arrived in rescue I had no hair on my neck, parts of my back and my tail... I also had a collar partially in my neck. It did hurt a bit. And they called me Crunchy Coat because my coat was rather stiff to touch. They think I was kept outside most of my life and neglected.. but I prefer not to talk about the past any more.

#6. I LOVE the taste of Cottage Cheese!!! YUMMM!!!!!

#7. I like to drive my evil foster mom batty and on drives I will randomly stand up and start wagging my tail like I see something, then lay back down and go to sleep. Makes her nuts to try and figure out what I am waggin' at!

So today the evil one wakes me up all early in the morning, packs me into her convertible and takes me for a ride. I think....ok, a ride is fun, this could be good......I should have known better! We get to a strange house where I meet some folks I have never met before, some weird little critters that have four legs like me....but they hiss and spit. WHOAH....they scared me half to death I have to tell ya, I avoided them at all costs hiding behind the evil ones legs! She said we were at an "adoption" whatever that means. I also got to meet another cool dog named Barrow.....he was a slow older dude like me, I liked him other then he had some sort of mutant paw with only 3 toes....it was silly looking but he didn't seem to care:)So why the nice lady who lived there was deciding who she wanted to "adopt".....the evil one takes me out into the yard and plays "bowling with Butters." It was NOT nice....she kept tossing me in the ivy and taking pictures.....muttering something about calender pictures? I have no idea what she was talking about but I tell you...that was not a fun game and even though I look like I was modeling beatifully, secretly i was protesting inside! Then the nice lady picked the mutant paw dog....so why they are all inside doing the paperwork......they stick me...BUTTERS....in a big kennel! Can you believe the nerve of these humans? First in the ivy, then the kennel.....but don't you worry...I told them a thing or two through that window and I saw the evil one watching me so I know she heard me:)Until later....I need a nap...these "adoption days" are tiring!

So just when the evil one lured me into a false sense of security last night and she slipped in the room alone with me for some personal one on one time.....I should have known something was up! She starts torturing me with this green fuzzy frog thing...like I am supposed to know what the heck to do with it! The thing comes flying at my face, nearly scaring the dogster right out of me.....what is she thinking? Once she stopped throwing the frog at me, I kinda liked it and poked at it a bit....then she got all excited and said I "played" with my first toy. Whatever makes her happy so she doesn't THROW it at me again!

So far so good......atleast for me:)

SO.....I have managed to remain low on the evil one's radar tonight so far. I can't say the same for the big hairy dog.....as you can see in the picture behind me. He must have done something really bad cause they have had him in that jail for a long time. They only let him out to pee and they gave him a REALLY bad haircut on only one side of his butt.....HAAA, how embarassed must he be! Poor Rudi (thats what they call him)he woowooo's all the time in protest too and they just think it is the sweetest thing....if they only knew what he was REALLY SAYING........

So.....you obviously all saw that my act to stand my ground at the top of the stairs did not work last night. Instead it resulted in the evil one running down without me to fetch slippers and running back up to humiliate me once again! I did finally figure out the video thing to show you all what I am talking about with that spoiled princess Nika....can you believe that travesty???? So, in order to stay safe this morning and to avoid and morning devastation by the evil one before she left for work, I decided to "play dead" on my pillow so she would leave me alone.....hey it worked:)

So....after I had to rush to hide myself from the evil master Paige last night, let me tell you about the rest of my night. That princess dog Nika that lives with me....well she just had "liver sturgery" or somethin and she is REALLY milkin it for all its worth. She needs to be carried up and down the stairs, master Paige is feeding her with a spoon (yes this is the same one who puts toys on my nose for the Ebay auction and takes cruel pictures of ME), and she gets to spend extra alone time with the master! I had to walk right through a baby gate with my head the other day to join them.....good thing I have a hard dome! Can you all believe the torturous ways I must endure? Ok, so maybe I am a little crazy to want to spend time with the evil one....but secretly I hear she likes me:) I still am thinking of protesting at the top of the stairs tonight until the evil one picks me up and carries me down too.
